What creating a collection in monsoon season really looks like

Monsoon rain, dusty roads, flowers everywhere, and suitcases filled with treasures.
For our latest collection shoot, Junior Art Director Emma and Marketing & Social Media Manager Liana travelled across India together with Narendra and Konika, our trusted local partners and true experts in craftsmanship. What followed was a full-on adventure shaped by long drives, sudden rainstorms, colourful landscapes, and spontaneous stops whenever inspiration struck.
One of the stops along the way was Goa. We arrived dreaming of sunny white beaches and long golden evenings, only to realise the monsoon season had just begun. Monsoon is a rainy season caused by changing winds, bringing heavy rain to many tropical countries.
It rained almost every single day. At first, it felt like a little disappointment, but somehow it also became the perfect reminder of how things often work in India. You learn to go with the flow, enjoy the ride, stay flexible, and simply steer things in a new direction to make something beautiful out of it.
And honestly, that is exactly where some of the best moments happened.
From hidden flower markets and roadside chai breaks to quiet villages and bustling cities, every place added something to the story of the collection. Fabrics drying in the sun between rain showers, hand-painted signs, temple colours, vintage treasures stacked in tiny shops, whimsical details were everywhere if you looked closely enough.
Travelling through India always reminds us why we create the way we do. The beauty of handmade pieces, the richness of traditional craftsmanship, and the charm of things that feel imperfect, layered, and full of life.
Along the way, we gathered inspiration, props, textures, and treasures that later found their way into the shoot. Sometimes it was a flower garland hanging from a market stall, sometimes an old brass object discovered on a dusty roadside. The best ideas often came in the most unexpected moments.
The journey behind this collection became just as inspiring as the collection itself. Rain on the windows, music in the car, endless roads ahead, and a camera roll filled with memories we already want to relive.
What makes these trips even more special is sharing them together with our Indian partners. After so many years of working side by side, it no longer feels like a collaboration, but like family travelling, creating, problem-solving, laughing, and building something beautiful together. From navigating sudden rainstorms to hunting for treasures along the road, every part of the journey is something we experience as one team. And that shared love for craftsmanship, creativity, and adventure is woven into every collection we create.
