Our Copenhagen inspiration diary

Aanyoung, our Founder, and Emma, our Junior Art Director, headed to Copenhagen for a few days of treasure hunting. Come along on their adventure through flea markets, cinnamon buns break, and pink bikes. Together, they were on the hunt for one simple thing: fresh inspiration.
Copenhagen, you had us at breakfast.
An early coffee at Atelier September helped them keep up with their Danish agent Lenette and her speedy tempo. Taking them from one beautiful spot to another, they spent their day visiting lovely clients, little cafés, and inspiring shops along the way. There’s something so special about walking into a store and finding your own designs on display. Real pinch-me moments.
Followed by, of course, one more cinnamon bun.
After many, many steps, Aanyoung and Emma switched to their pink bikes to discover even more of the city. Crossing Copenhagen’s streets like they actually knew where they were going.
At the vintage market, they found new treasures to bring home in their Sari Sari bags. Wandering between stalls, brass kept catching their eye. From tiny handles to sculptural objects, the metal lends itself to unexpected shapes. It’s exactly why we love working with recycled brass, shaping and finishing each piece by hand, just like the antiques that inspire us.
Even with their bags already full, they somehow kept finding new shops and cafés. True treasure hunters. Around every corner was another place tempting them to spend just a little bit more, whether it was a stop at Shop Dora or obsessing over every detail at Af Agger. At one point, Aanyoung even joked about “bankruptcy” after their creative escape.
A quick lunch at Etcetera was exactly what they needed to keep up with their back-to-back schedule. And yes… they already knew what they wanted to order from every restaurant before arriving.
Because who says a rosé for two can’t be inspiring?
It even matched their Copenhagen uniform: always on pink bikes, pink Doing Goods bags along for the ride, and rosy cheeks from the Scandi sun. You can’t miss the pink bikes at NH Hotel Copenhagen Grand Joanne.
For us, travelling has never really been “just travelling”. It’s collecting ideas, colours, textures, funny little details and inspiration everywhere we go. They came home with full camera rolls, tired feet and lots of new ideas for Doing Goods.
Above all, it was amazing meeting people who love Doing Goods just as much as we do! We have 800 new photos and many new friends to prove it.
